L&T Construction wins orders for Power Transmission & Distribution worth over Rs 1,000 cr

In Middle East, the company has won two orders for the upgrade of Electrical Networks in large industrial facilities.

New Delhi: L&T announced its Power Transmission & Distribution business has secured new orders in India and abroad, that fall in the "significant" category where the value of the contracts is between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore.

In Middle East, the company has won two orders for the upgrade of Electrical Networks in large industrial facilities. The scope of these orders involves establishing Gas Insulated Substations with associated High Voltage Cable Systems.

"The Power Transformers and Control & Protection systems are the other crucial elements that will be installed as part of the works," the company said in a statement, adding complex projects require engineering and project management capabilities to meet the safety, quality and schedule requirements.

In India, the company has received an order for building a 765 kV transmission line. The transmission line will facilitate evacuation of Renewable Energy from the Wind and Solar Energy hub being established around Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.
